Tanya Burr Lips and Nails Collection Review!

tanyaburr

You’ve probably all heard of the Tanya Burr collection by now, I was so excited for Tanya as it’s such a massive achievement for her, and I couldn’t wait to see the collection when it went into Superdrug stores last week! They are also available online, and I was so tempted to order them that way, but I just really wanted to see them on the stand!

I ended up getting two nail polishes, and four of the lipglosses. I’m going to be showing them all in a haul video coming soon on my Youtube channel, in which I have swatches and everything! There’s also a makeup tutorial using the shade Afternoon Tea too, so make sure you’re subscribed so that you don’t miss them!

The two nail polishes I picked up are Mini Marshmallows (pale pink) and Little Duck (mint green). Both are gorgeous pastel shades, and the formulation is brilliant. I didn’t really know what to expect, as I know sometimes celebrity collections aren’t that great, but you can really tell that Tanya has put such a lot of love and effort into the collection. Mini Marshmallows looks really sheer on the first coat, but by the second coat, is a beautiful pastel pink. Little Duck (currently on my toes) is almost opaque in one coat and is a really flattering mint green. I personally prefer it to Essie’s mint candy apple and Maybelline’s mint for life, which are two of my favourite mint green polishes. I think it’s the more blue undertones that make it so appealing, but either way it’s really pretty! The nail polishes are £5.99, but if you have an NUS card, like me, be sure to use it at Superdrug for 10% off!

The lipglosses are a pound more, at £6.99. I’m not usually a massive lipgloss person, but recently I’ve been getting more and more into them. I’m a big fan of the Clarins instant light lip perfectors and I also love the Victoria’s Secret lipglosses, but the Tanya Burr ones are gorgeous!

It’s the pigmentation I can’t quite believe! With the exception of Champagne Toast, a sheer sparkly nude, all the other shades I’ve tried are really pigmented, and you don’t need to wear a lipstick or anything underneath them! They are all scented with a sweet Strawberry sweets/ Strawberries and cream scent, which I personally really like (I really don’t like un-scented lip products, and sweet scents are my favourite!).

Picnic in the Park is a beautiful bright pink shade that look beautiful on the lips, Afternoon tea is a more nude-pink, and very much on the lines of MAC Creme Cup, which is one of my all time favourite lipsticks. Aurora is a darker pink, really similar to my natural lip colour, and again it’s really pretty on. Champagne toast is the least pigmented, and probably my least favourite, but it’s still a really pretty shade. As it’s not as pigmented, this one is great for a really natural look, or is great for wearing over a nude lipstick.

I’m really impressed with the Tanya Burr collection, and I can’t wait to pick up some more shades to try! If you haven’t tried them yet, I’d really recommend them, and I think they’re one of the best makeup releases so far this year!

So make sure you’re subscribed to my Youtube channel to be the first to know when my videos go up where I talk about these products and show you swatches, and also my makeup tutorial using Afternoon Tea!

Hope you’re all having a great day! xx
